Eden Valley Guest Ranch in the Okanogan Highlands of Washington encourages all guests to participate in snow art appreciation. What is snow art?
There are many forms of snow art. One snow art form many might know is referred to a snowman. In places like the Okanogan Highlands, whole snow families might exist include snow dogs. If snow conditions are warm guests may make snow art in the field between the cabins and the lodge.
The Snow Angel is snow art and is simply made by falling backwards in the snow and waving ones arms in the snow, up and down while moving the legs in and out. Care must be taken when getting up not to spoil the print. This is a great family event.
The beauty of non disturbed snow under different light conditions can be very interesting. It is fun to take very close up snow pictures using a digital camera. The crystals are always different. Sometimes refracted light makes tiny rainbow of color. Experiment! There is no wrong way to play with snow art.
